Yarmouth High School Vex Robotics Team at Cape Elizabeth 2010
The Yarmouth High School Vex Robotics Team starts their second year with this first competition held at Cape Elizabeth High School on December 4th. This new year sees a seasoned team now with twice as many students involved. In fact we were able to field two robots this year. As with our first competition last year, the students did great and learned a lot, repairing and enhancing their bots as they encountered each of their competitors. For our senior team victory came in the form of the skills challenge. The skill challenge is an addition game teams can compete on to test various aspects of their designs. In our case we were able to score the most points in a period of 1 minute. This gave the senior team a 1st place trophy in the Skill Challenge. What we did not know is that this gave them the right to go on to the world competition being held this year in Orlando Florida. So congratulations to the senior team on this victory. Not looking to rest on their laurels, both teams will be attended more competitions in the region giving you the opportunity to come and see what its all about and how much fun the kids have.
